Deborah Kehoe
President and Design Director
Deborah has more than 20 years of experience as a designer. She founded Kehoe+Kehoe Design Associates in Burlington, Vermont in 1990. There are a number of attributes that distinguish Deborah's approach. She sees herself as a solutions provider with a can-do attitude for every project, from the most straightforward to the most challenging. She listens carefully to you to get a thorough understanding of your needs. Like an architect, Deborah thinks about the big picture and envisions outcomes that will achieve your desired objectives. She presents ideas, explores them with you and helps you assess options. Together you determine the best solution. Then, like a contractor, she carefully plans development and delivery of the project in logical phases, addressing all the details, to ensure a smooth process, with no surprises. "I believe the design must have an inherent capacity for cohesiveness and longevity
that will extend well beyond our client's immediate need. This establishes a depth that works for
them today and can be sustained in future applications as well."
For clients with complex communications needs, such as large businesses, educational institutions and healthcare organizations, Deborah is committed to empowering them with systems that enable them to maintain and reinforce their brand presence and generate graphic materials in-house in cost-effective ways. "We develop tools such as templates and style manuals and
educate them about processes so they can easily and consistently build
their identity into proposals, corporate communications materials and
internal documents. This gives them powerful competitive advantages."
Deborah encourages her team's enthusiasm, inventiveness, and imagination, and works closely with them to balance creative values with practical outcomes. Clients and staff say her composure and quiet sense of humor help them get through even intense or complicated aspects of project development processes. "We are all dedicated to customer satisfaction and carefully manage every
project so our clients' expectations for outcomes, deadlines, and budgets are consistently
met."
Deborah is a skilled designer with a gift for developing logos, graphic identities, promotional materials and web content that establish and command a strong, solid presence for her clients. Her solutions for packaging, architectural features, banners, signage, displays and trade show booths also reflect this sense of space and place. Classic design education at highly regarded institutions is at the core of the freshness, long-term effectiveness, and viability of the solutions Deborah develops for her clients. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Philadelphia College of Art, and studied at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Deborah began her career in the Boston area where she had the privilege to work at the noted PBS station WGBH in Boston on projects for This Old House, Julia Child and NOVA. Her well-blended background includes experience working with museums, commercial developers, architectural firms and Fortune 500 companies. "I'm always energized by working on multiple projects at the same time, and I'm
proud that while I was working in Boston my creativity and skills resulted in invitations to teach
at several prestigious New England institutions, including the Rhode Island School of Design,
The Art Institute of Boston, Clark University in Worcester, MA, and the New England
School of Photography."
Deborah's awards include the American Institute of Graphic Arts' (AIGA), published in the Graphic Design Annual and in PRINT magazine Design Annual, Gold Award at the Corporate 100 Annual Report Show, Silver Award for Merit and Awards from the Art Directors' Club of Boston, Honors from the National Museum Association, the New England Museum Association, the Frankfurt Germany Book Show (50 Best Books) and many First and Second place awards from the Vermont Ad Club. |
